My original artwork called "In Her Element" was created in 2022. I was new to digital art and had a story concept of a ballerina fully immersed her craft.
This is the 2022 original. I wanted to contrast the warmth of the studio with the coolness of the rain. With the rework, I picked a deep, navy color to ground the piece. With the ballerina as my subject, I clothed her in white to distinguish her from the background. In the foreground, I kept the columns and reshaped them, so that they didn't appear one-dimensional.
To push the story further, I added an onlooker to the frame. From 2022 to now (2026), I feel that my artistic style has changed, quite a bit. As a nod to my younger self, I added a little girl to the artwork.
